Two people, a man and a woman, died in a traffic accident on the A-8, at kilometre point 299, at the Bamori exit, in the direction of Galicia, in the council of Llanes.
Both, both English nationals, were travelling on a motorbike which, for reasons unknown, ended up overturning on the road. The mortal remains of the woman had to be pulled out from under a car by firefighters from the Emergency Service of the Principality of Asturias (SEPA) based in the Llanes park.
According to information provided by the Servicio de Atención Médica Urgente (SAMU), the medical team from the Arriondas mobile ICU that went to the scene could only confirm his death. They are a 68-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman.
The Guardia Civil has taken charge of the formalities for the removal of the bodies. The fire brigade remains in the area to collaborate in these tasks once they receive the corresponding authorisation.
The Emergency Coordination Centre of 112 Asturias received the call at 17.29 hours. The calls indicated that there was a motorbike on the road and that two people were believed to be dead. One of them had been hit by a car and was trapped.
SEPA room 112 activated a fire brigade from the llanisco fire station and the head of the eastern area who travelled to the incident. At the same time, the SAMU and the Guardia Civil were alerted.
