Zandvoort, Netherlands (dpa) – Red Bull’s Sergio Perez and Williams driver Nicholas Latifi will start from the pit lane at Sunday’s Dutch Formula One Grand Prix.
Mexican Perez only qualified in 16th so Red Bull opted to change his power unit for the fourth time this season – one more than is allowed.
«Usually that change would have seen him hit with a grid place penalty, but because the team have replaced his energy store for one of a different specification, it means he will have to start from the pit lane,» the F1 website said.
Williams changed parts on Latifi’s car following his crash in qualifying on Saturday.
His gearbox has been replaced but he also starts from the pits rather than getting a grid penalty because Williams have exchanged his front wing and nose assembly with those of a different spec.
