In its weather forecast for today, 30 July, in Spain, AEMET reports high temperatures, exceeding 35 degrees in large parts of the peninsular interior, the interior of Mallorca and the Canary Islands, and reaching 40–42 degrees in the river valleys of the south-western quadrant, the low-lying areas of the east and the Ebro Valley.
This is the second day of the heatwave. On the Iberian Peninsula and in the Balearic Islands, skies are expected to be largely clear, apart from some low cloud and mist in Galicia and along the Cantabrian coast, which will tend to clear as the day progresses but may bring some isolated drizzle. Some low cloud with mist is also expected along the Mediterranean coast. In the afternoon, clouds will develop in the northern third of the peninsula, with a few scattered showers in the Ebro Valley and surrounding areas. In the Canary Islands, low cloud is expected on the northern side and clear skies on the southern side.
Dust haze is expected in the south of the peninsula and in the far east of the Canary Islands.
Maximum temperatures will fall in the Cantabrian region and Galicia, quite significantly in inland areas; they will rise in the Canary Islands, the eastern third of the peninsula and Andalusia, particularly in the Gulf of Cádiz, and will remain unchanged elsewhere.

Tropical nights, with temperatures not falling below 20 degrees, are expected in the Canary Islands, the Mediterranean, the Ebro region and the southern half of the peninsula.
Winds will be light to moderate along the coasts, blowing from the north in the Cantabrian Sea and from the east in the Mediterranean. Inland on the peninsula, they will be light and from the south-west, picking up in the afternoon. In the Canary Islands, the trade winds will be moderate, with very strong gusts likely in exposed areas.
