Berlin (dpa) – Formula One driver Valtteri Bottas is cutting it fine to make practice for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Friday after issues with his flight left him delayed in Finland.
«The plan was already to be in Baku,» the Mercedes driver Bottas told a press conference on Thursday – from an airport in Finland. «But I have a couple of problems with my flight.»
There are two practice sessions on Friday ahead of Saturday qualifying for Sunday’s race in Baku and Bottas is remaining calm about his situation.
«I have a new flight and hope that I’m there tonight,» he said. «We are well prepared.»
Bottas is fourth in the drivers’ standings after five races this season, 58 points behind leader Max Verstappen of Red Bull.
