Pero la coloraci\u00f3n de esta ara\u00f1a, en estado cr\u00edtico de conservaci\u00f3n, intriga a los cient\u00edficos porque se forma de la misma manera que las alas de una mariposa o las plumas de un pavo real, es decir mediante microestructuras, pero en su caso no var\u00eda con los reflejos de luz o desde diferentes \u00e1ngulos de visi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Ahora, un grupo internacional de cient\u00edficos, liderado por la Universidad de Akron (EE UU), ha logrado replicar el atractivo color de esta tar\u00e1ntula de forma artificial produciendo una coloraci\u00f3n estructural no-iridiscente. El estudio, publicado en la revista Advanced Optical Materials, permitir\u00e1 aplicar esta coloraci\u00f3n en la industria textil con beneficios para el medio ambiente.<\/p>\n<p>Los pelos de la tar\u00e1ntula azul, originaria de una peque\u00f1a zona del sur de la India, son los que le proporcionan este caracter\u00edstico color sin mostrar iridiscencia ni cambiar de tonalidad con el movimiento. Para los cient\u00edficos, esto se debe a que su estructura no es regular. Sus pelos est\u00e1n formados por varias capas con una nanoestructura de flor que logran mantener el color con independencia del \u00e1ngulo de visi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Para replicar el sistema, el equipo cre\u00f3 modelos de estructuras como los de los pelos de la tar\u00e1ntula azul con nanoimpresoras 3D, y as\u00ed analiz\u00f3 su comportamiento al reflejar la luz. Como resultado, los investigadores lograron que esta r\u00e9plica reprodujera el mismo color en un \u00e1ngulo de 160 grados.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em>La aplicaci\u00f3n de esta nanotecnolog\u00eda podr\u00eda sustituir a la coloraci\u00f3n con pigmentos que se emplea en la industria textil, cosm\u00e9tica y embalaje<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Un sistema de coloraci\u00f3n no t\u00f3xico<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan Radwanul Hasan Siddique del Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Karlsruhe (KIT) en Alemania, los hallazgos podr\u00edan aplicarse en la industria textil a corto plazo, sustituyendo los colorantes basados en pigmentos por esta nueva t\u00e9cnica.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEsto podr\u00eda ser el primer paso hacia un futuro donde los colorantes estructurales reemplazan los pigmentos t\u00f3xicos utilizados en la actualidad en la industria textil, cosm\u00e9tica y el embalaje\u201d, concreta Hasan Siddique, que ahora investiga en el California Institute of Technology. Estas industrias, basadas en colorantes con pigmentos, producen un gran impacto medioambiental por la contaminaci\u00f3n del agua en la que acaban esos elementos.<\/p>\n<p>Para Hendrik H\u00f6lscher, tambi\u00e9n investigador del KIT, la adaptabilidad de la impresi\u00f3n 3D es el mayor reto para su uso en la industria. Solo unas pocas empresas en el mundo son capaces de producir estas nanoestructuras de manera econ\u00f3micamente viable.
