Estas industrias representan alrededor de un 25% del consumo mundial de energ\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Los investigadores han explorado una alternativa de energ\u00eda limpia utilizando receptores solares, que concentran y generan calor con miles de espejos que siguen el sol. Sin embargo, esta tecnolog\u00eda tiene dificultades para transferir energ\u00eda solar de manera eficiente por encima de los 1.000 grados.<\/p>\n<h2>MATERIALES SEMITRANSPARENTES<\/h2>\n<p>Para aumentar la eficiencia de los receptores solares, Casati recurri\u00f3 a materiales semitransparentes como el cuarzo, que pueden atrapar la luz solar, un fen\u00f3meno llamado efecto de trampa t\u00e9rmica.<\/p>\n<p>El equipo dise\u00f1\u00f3 un dispositivo de captura t\u00e9rmica uniendo una varilla de cuarzo sint\u00e9tico a un disco de silicio opaco como absorbente de energ\u00eda.<strong> Cuando expusieron el dispositivo a un flujo de energ\u00eda equivalente a la luz proveniente de 136 soles, la placa absorbente alcanz\u00f3 los 1.050 grados, mientras que el otro extremo de la varilla de cuarzo permaneci\u00f3 a 600 grados.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00abInvestigaciones anteriores s\u00f3lo han logrado demostrar el efecto de trampa t\u00e9rmica hasta 170 \u00b0C\u201d, seg\u00fan Casati, que agrega: \u201cNuestra investigaci\u00f3n demostr\u00f3 que la captura solar t\u00e9rmica funciona no s\u00f3lo a bajas temperaturas, sino tambi\u00e9n muy por encima de los 1.000 \u00b0C. Esto es crucial para mostrar su potencial para aplicaciones industriales del mundo real\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Casati concluye: \u00abLa cuesti\u00f3n energ\u00e9tica es una piedra angular para la supervivencia de nuestra sociedad.
